Zantac Cancer Risk: What You Need To Know

Atlanta Women’s Obstetrics & Gynecology acknowledges that Zantac and its generic varieties are being removed off of store shelves after the Food and Drug Administration revealed it found a chemical that could be linked to cancer.

This week stores, including Walmart, CVS and Walgreens, have announced that they are suspending sales of Zantac and generic variations after the news broke.

Atlanta Women’s Obstetrics & Gynecology recommends that all patients stop taking the drug and take Pepcid instead.

Pepcid is the brand name for famotidine. It works as an antihistamine to reduce the production of acid and prevent irritation.
